Coming from the East to evangelize Reims in the 3rd century, Timothy was martyred with his guard Apollinaris, who was converted by his steadfastness. After surviving molten lead and converting a multitude, they were beheaded by order of the governor Lampade. Their relics, sources of numerous miracles, were honored by Saint Remi and partially transferred to Saxony.

Mission and arrest in Reims

Having come from the East, Timothy preached the Gospel in Reims before being arrested by the governor Lampadius for his refusal to sacrifice to idols.

The martyrdom and the punishment of the governor

After the execution of fifty new converts, Timothy and Apollinaris are beheaded at Buxitus, while the governor Lampadius suffers an immediate divine punishment.

Apollinaris heard a heavenly voice announcing to him that all those who had been baptized that night would be received into heaven the following day; which the event confirmed, for the next day fifty people were beheaded by the order of Lampadius.
