A noble student in Bologna, Rizzeri joined Saint Francis of Assisi after hearing him preach. Having become provincial of the March of Ancona, he overcame violent temptations through the intervention of the holy patriarch. He died ten years after his master, leaving behind a reputation as a wonder-worker, particularly for the healing of fevers.

Origins and conversion
Coming from a noble family of Camerino, Rizzeri met Saint Francis of Assisi while studying in Bologna and decided to join his order.
Blessed Rizzeri was bo Le bienheureux Rizzeri Disciple of Saint Francis of Assisi and provincial of the March of Ancona. rn in the diocese of Camerino and belonged to a noble family. He was studying in Bologna when Saint Francis of Assisi went to preach in that city.
The discourses of the man of God made such an impression on the young student that he asked to be enrolled among the lovers of poverty. Soon, Rizzeri showed such ardor f Rizzeri Disciple of Saint Francis of Assisi and provincial of the March of Ancona. or the service of God and his neighbor that the holy patriarch admitted him into his full familiarity and entrusted to him, under the title of provincial, the government of the many convents of the March of Ancona.
The spiritual trial
Beset by violent temptations and despair, Rizzeri is delivered from his torments by the miraculous intervention of Saint Francis.
Assailed by the most violent temptations, he was about to succumb to despair, when Sai nt Francis, di saint François Founder of the Order of Friars Minor. vining his sorrows, made the sign of the cross on his forehead, and instantly dispelled them.
Death and posterity of the cult
After surviving Saint Francis for ten years, Rizzeri died in Camerino where his relics performed miracles, leading to the official recognition of his cult in 1838.
Rizzeri was a witness to the blessed death of Saint Francis and survived him for ten years. His body, an object of the veneration of the faithful, was first deposited secretly in a closed place in the church of S aint Jam Camerino Place where Bernard pronounced his religious vows. es, in Camerino; but the miracles obtained through the intercession of this Blessed one, especially for the healing of fevers, contributed to establishing, and have propagated to ou r days, his cult, pape Grégoire XVI Pope who established the liturgical feast of the blessed. which Pope Gregory XVI approved by his decree of December 14, 1838.
