Bishop and Martyr
Bishop of Lescar in the 6th century, Galactoire participated in the Council of Agde before being captured by the Arian Visigoths near Mimizan. Having refused to abjure the Catholic faith, he was cruelly put to death. His relics, long venerated in Lescar, were burned by Protestant troops in 1569.

Cult and fate of the relics
Honored in Lescar, his relics were preserved there until their destruction by the Protestant troops of the Count of Montgomery in 1569.
In accordance with the ancient breviary of Lescar, his memory is honored twice every year: on the day of his passing and on the day of the translation of his relics from the place where he was put to death to the city of Lescar.
