Birth and early years
Lambert was born in Bauduen under tragic circumstances, his mother dying while giving him life, which would mark his spirituality with rigorous penance.

Formation at the Abbey of Lérins
Raised by the monks of Lérins, he distinguished himself by his taste for silence, solitude, and great erudition combined with humility.
He was entrusted, from his childhood , to the monks o moines de Lérins Monastery devastated by the Saracens. f Lérins, to be raised by them. He won their benevolence and admiration through an excellent nature inclined toward all virtues. He loved silence and solitude, and he never left his cell, except when obedience forced him to. He became learned without ceasing to be humble.
Episcopate in Vence
Having become Bishop of Vence against his will, he governed his diocese for forty years with monastic simplicity and total devotion to the poor.

From then on, he was seen constantly occupied with instructing his people through his words and edifying them by his example; with generously assisting the poor; and with consoling the sick and the afflicted. He lived in the episcopal dignity with a truly monastic simplicity. He governed his church for forty years, and rendered his soul to God on May 26. His death was accompanied by miracles.
